Luciano Sandrone Barolo Cannubi Boschis 2000
|Region||Italy, Piedmont, Barolo|
Solid and super fruity. Ultraclean, with blackberries, raspberries and licorice character. Full-bodied, with silky tannins and a long finish. Focused and silky. Very refined indeed. One of the best Cannubis ever from here. Best after 2009.
International Wine Cellar
($135) Saturated deep red. Less expressive on the nose than Le Vigne, hinting at blackberry, flowers and smoky oak. Suave on entry, then quite closed in the middle palate; less obviously lush and sweet than Le Vigne but more gripping. Then very strong on the back end, building impressively and demonstrating a serious tannic structure that transcends the vintage. Built to age. 93 (+) points. 11/04.
