Elio Grasso Barolo Gavarini Vigna Chiniera 2011

SKU 4471

The vinification procedure for Barolo Gavarini Chiniera involves alcoholic fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with daily pumping over. After completing malolactic fermentation, the wine matures in 25-hectolitre barrels of Slavonian oak. Bottling normally takes place in August. The Barolo Gavarini Chiniera then stays in the binning cellar for 8-10 months before release.

Wine EnthusiastDark berry, tobacco, leather and a balsamic note are some of the aromas you'll find on this stunning wine. The firm, full-bodied palate delivers ripe black cherry, black pepper, licorice and chopped mint alongside youthfully assertive but refined tannins that need time to unwind. Drink 2021-2031.

Wine SpectatorLicorice, plum, tar and spice flavors mingle, getting support from dense, dusty tannins. There's brightness too, as this leaves a mouthwatering impression on the finish. Best from 2019 through 2032. 980 cases made.
