Egly-Ouriet Les Vignes de Vrigny 1er Cru NVFew winemakers plant Pinot Meunier on premier cru land; fewer still on terroir that is essentially an extension of the noble Montaigne de Reims. This 100% Pinot Meunier spends 36 months on its lees, far more than any other Pinot Meunier wine in the region. White pepper and lime rind with chalk dust on the nose; very precise. Orange and blood peaches with plenty of ripe citrus notes on the palate-saturated and very thirst-quenching.
Veuve Clicquot Champagne Brut Yellow Label (1.5 L - Magnum) NV 1.5LThe strength of this golden-yellow wine is immediately pleasing to the nose while its complexity explodes on the palate. The initial notes of fruit are followed by more discreet aromas of brioche and vanilla when the wine is allowed to age in the bottle. Brut Carte Jaune offers a perfect balance of finesse and forcefulness. Food Pairings: Salmon, blinis, fish tartars, pasta, parmesan, seafood, crackers.
Egly-Ouriet Champagne Extra Brut VP NVFrancis Egly is at the top of the small grower elite, with his estate located in the heart of the Côte de Noirs, surrounded by 100% grand cru Pinot Noir vineyards. Part of what makes Egly so special is the lands on which his grapes flourish. The grand cru "Vieillissment Prolongé," a wine that spends more than 70 months on its lees. Few Champagne houses can match the quality and originality of Egly wines.
Moet & Chandon Dom Pérignon Champagne Brut (Gift box) 2006Dom Pérignon is vintage champagne only. Each Vintage wine is created from the finest grapes grown in one single year. Reinventing itself by interpreting the unique character of the seasons. Daring not to release a Vintage if the harvest does not meet its ideal. After at least eight years of elaboration in the cellars, the wine then embodies the perfect balance of Dom Pérignon, its greatest promise. This is Dom Pérignon Vintage, the Plénitude of harmony. ON THE PALATE: The wine's opulence - contained and succulent, round at heart - reveals itself in the mouth". The envelope slides and stretches, and the wine becomes more complex and edgy, silkier than it is creamy. "The whole eventually melts into an exquisite bitterness tinged with the briny taste of the sea. ON THE NOSE: The immediate impression is of the mildness of the pure, airy, bright bouquet. A floral, fruity pastel tone then unfolds and quickly darkens into candied fruit, ripe hay and toasted notes, along with hints of licorice.
