Tardieu-Laurent Hermitage 1999
Domaine Chandon de Briailles Volnay les Caillerets 2009This wine has a beautiful velvet and matter. The tannins are tight in its youth, especially in the finish.
Domaine Chandon de Briailles Pernand Vergelesses Ile de Vergelesses 2010The wine is of great aromatic finesse on the nose, very intense, and develops scents of red fruits tending to liquorice and spices. Its structure is straight-line and tannic; it possesses great power and long persistence on the palate. Wait around 5 years before opening.
Joseph Drouhin Gevrey Chambertin 2012Gevrey-Chambertin is a wine with a beautiful, bright ruby colour. Intensely fruity on the nose, the aromas are reminiscent of black cherry, wild blackberry and liquorice. The woody character is subtle and marries delicately with the other aromas. As the wine evolves, there are more complex notes, such as mild spice, nutmeg and leather. Later still, mushroom and damp earth nuances make their appearance. Although present on the palate, tannin is never astringent but blends itself harmoniously with the natural freshness and "gras" (velvety texture) of the wine. The same aromas encountered earlier on the nose are found again in the aftertaste.
Louis Jadot Gevrey Chambertin Clos St Jacques 2014A full-bodied, complex wine, this Premier Cru has a broad array of aromas and fine expression of terroir as well as impressive length on the palate. It will develop for more than 10 years in the bottle-or up to 40 in great vintages. Serve with game, meats, mushroom dishes and strong cheeses.
Domaine Henri Gouges Nuits Saint Georges Clos des Porrets St. Georges 2015Sitting on the stony pink limestone Premeaux, the Clos des Porrets is composed of calcareous scree and soil rich in clay. The wines from here express an elegant finesse after only a few years in the bottle.
