Bedrock Wine Co. Pagani Ranch Heritage Red 2013The sheer density and broadness of the wine, which enjoyed a particularly hefty level of mixed blacks due to the fruitfulness of the Alicante, Lenoir, Petite Sirah, and Grand Noir, made us hold it in barrel for several more months. The resulting wine is an age-worthy beauty, though those who like more muscular efforts will be fine opening this in a couple years. At early glance, this looks to be the finest Pagani Ranch to date.
Owen Roe Sinister Hand 2015The 2015 'Sinister Hand' red blend is a generous fusion of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvedre, and Cinsaut. It is easily approachable while displaying undeniable complexity. The Grenache portion of the blend contributes cranberry and raspberry candied fruit notes, while the Syrah delivers darker fruits and savory characteristics. Mourvedre enhances the structure and richness of the body and provides delicate aromas of violets. The partially carbonic macerated Cinsaut brings liveliness and tropical fruit flavors to the blend. Try pairing with a smoked salmon dish with cranberry sauce and grilled portabello.

Qupé Bien Nacido Hillside Estate Syrah 2010This wine is 100% Syrah from the Z Block at Bien Nacido Vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley of northern Santa Barbara County. Z Block is a custom block that was planted for us in 1992 on a steep, southwest facing hillside slope. The wine was made using the same techniques that we have used for this wine every year since 1994…small open top fermenters, manual punch downs, saignée barrel fermentation for about 10% of the volume, and aging for about 20 months in Francois Freres Burgundy barrels - of which about 50-60% are new. This is pretty textbook Bien Nacido Hillside Syrah showing spicy, savory aromatics with a nice dollop of toasty mocha from the oak. It is tich and deeply colored with well integrated flavors of blueberries, cola and hints of black pepper. The acidity is in good balance and the palate is plush. The alcohol is in check at 13.3%. This wine shows pretty well already but will easily reward 10-15 years of bottle age.
Opus One Napa Valley Red 2014The 2014 Opus One exudes subtle aromas of fragrant florals, fresh garden herbs and forest floor that give way to a concentrated blend of red cherry, blackberry and black currant. We encourage you to experiment with our Scuttlehole Chardonnay as it is so adaptable, versatile and delicious.

Turley Juvenile Zinfandel 2016Though the vast majority of our wines are single vineyard designates, Juvenile is actually composed of a variety of young vines that have been replanted in several of our old vine sites. We tag the vine when we replant it so as not to mix the brand new vine with its much older neighbors, then pick these young vines separately and make a distinct wine. The vines that make up Juvenile range in age from about 6-25 years, and we pull from 18 of our best vineyards across California, including Hayne, Ueberroth, Pesenti, Salvador, Vineyard 101, Fredericks and Kirschenmann.

Patricia Green Dry Muscat Ottonel 2016Muscat Ottonel is a white wine grape variety that is a member of the Muscat family. It is most notable for its use in dessert wines from Austria, Romania, Croatia and Serbia as well as dry wines from Alsace and Hungary. We have produced this exotic varietal in a bone-dry style showcasing its elegance and fragrance of pear blossoms and white flowers. This is generally a lower acid grape and while it is far from high in acid it has a nice lift and snap to it that makes for a refreshing, almost thirst-quenching sort of beverage.

Domaine Chandon de Briailles Volnay les Caillerets 2009This wine has a beautiful velvet and matter. The tannins are tight in its youth, especially in the finish.
Domaine Chandon de Briailles Pernand Vergelesses Ile de Vergelesses 2010The wine is of great aromatic finesse on the nose, very intense, and develops scents of red fruits tending to liquorice and spices. Its structure is straight-line and tannic; it possesses great power and long persistence on the palate. Wait around 5 years before opening.
Joseph Drouhin Gevrey Chambertin 2012Gevrey-Chambertin is a wine with a beautiful, bright ruby colour. Intensely fruity on the nose, the aromas are reminiscent of black cherry, wild blackberry and liquorice. The woody character is subtle and marries delicately with the other aromas. As the wine evolves, there are more complex notes, such as mild spice, nutmeg and leather. Later still, mushroom and damp earth nuances make their appearance. Although present on the palate, tannin is never astringent but blends itself harmoniously with the natural freshness and "gras" (velvety texture) of the wine. The same aromas encountered earlier on the nose are found again in the aftertaste.

Fontodi Flaccianello della Pieve 2000
Ornellaia Ornellaia 2008What appeared to be a disadvantage for the 2013 vintage - late budding and flowering - proved to be a major advantage thanks to a warm summer and month of September offering textbook conditions for harvesting, with cool temperatures but a prevalence of sunny weather. This resulted in slow but complete ripening with great balance and a delightful aromatic quality, which we like to define as "Elegance". Ornellaia 2013, with its dense, vibrant colour, has a nose of splendid aromatic complexity built around a limpid and brilliant fruitiness, underscored by refined spicy and balsamic notes. The mouth develops vibrant and complex fruity nuances framed by a dense, slender structure with tannins that attain a rare harmony between firmness and fleshiness, concluding with a long balanced and fresh finish.
Fontodi Chianti Classico Riserva Vigna del Sorbo 2008All Fontodi wines are produced from grapes coming from their own vineyards, picked by hand, chosen with care and vinified in a way that exalts the character of the vines and the territory. Vigna del Sorbo with south-west exposure with 30 years old vines. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts for at least 3 weeks. Ageing in Troncais and Allier barrels 50% new for 24 months.
Ornellaia Ornellaia 2009Ripeness and elegance are the two qualities that can best describe Ornellaia 2009. Born from a vintage which began cool then turned hot, it was necessary to take painstaking care during harvest in order to preserve the grapes' crisp acidity and aromatic complexity. The wine's fragrances are generous and cleanly-defined, with rich, well-ripened fruit, complemented by chocolate and balsamic notes of aromatic herbs. On the palate, silky-smooth and spacious, with glossy tannins. A lively, refreshing acidity lifts a lingering finish.
Fontodi Chianti Classico Riserva Vigna del Sorbo 2010All Fontodi wines are produced from grapes coming from their own vineyards, picked by hand, chosen with care and vinified in a way that exalts the character of the vines and the territory. Vigna del Sorbo with south-west exposure with 30 years old vines. Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts for at least 3 weeks. Fontodi Chianti Classico Riserva Vigna del Sorbo 2009All Fontodi wines are produced from grapes coming from their own vineyards, picked by hand, chosen with care and vinified in a way that exalts the character of the vines and the territory. The Fontodi Oil "Bio" is produced from its own olives which are delicately pressed the same day as the harvest in order to preserve all the freshness and the fragrance of the fruit.
Tenuta San Guido Sassicaia 2011Sassicaia means "the place of many stones," and refers to the region's gravel soil. The original vineyards have a southwest exposure with extensive sun and maritime breezes that create robust vegetation. Grapes are handpicked, destemmed and crushed before fermenting with natural yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. The wine is aged in French oak barriques, then refined in bottle before release. Sassicaia's success prompted the Italian government to grant the wine its own appellation, Bolgheri Sassicaia DOC, beginning with the 1994 vintage.
Ornellaia Le Serre Nuove 2012Le Serre Nuove dell'Ornellaia 2012 is as expected ; a deep ruby red. A very crisp, clean-edged bouquet features emphatic notes of wild berry fruit and sweet violets, with underlying hints of pungent spice and roast espresso bean. The palate is full-volumed with a good weight, yet at the same time displaying elegance and pedigree, with a velvet-smooth, glossy texture and up-front fruit. A lovely vein of acidity propels a near-endless finish, held taut and true by an exceptional charge of tannins, bringing the wine to a close on an intensely refreshing note.
Siro Pacenti Brunello di Montalcino Vecchie Vigne 2010Structured and elegant, with silky tannins and a long finish. This wine comes from two vineyards with vines over 35 years old; annual production is around 30,000 bottles.
Ornellaia Ornellaia 2012The 2012 growing season was characterised by an abundance of sunny, dry weather; some rain did fall as well, but it occurred in just the right periods, before the harvest, and helped the vines to cope with the hot, dry conditions. The result was an even, consistent ripening process that in the end yielded generous, full-volumed wines that are remarkably appealing and seductive, with an overall character that we like to define with the word Incanto ('Enchantment'). Ornellaia 2012 appears a deep ruby, and a remarkably beguiling bouquet boasts rich fruit and spices notes. The palate shows well-rounded, full, and generous, with glossy tannins and a complete absence of any roughness. The 2012 lacks none of the proverbial concentration that distinguishes Ornellaia's, great vintages, but this vintage adroitly masks that richness behind an expansive, magisterial structure, then concludes with a near-endless finish.
Gaja Ca'Marcanda Promis 2013Color: Light garnet. Aroma: Bright and fruit with a jammy nose. Taste: A delightful wine that combines the elegance and suppleness of Merlot and Syrah with the austerity of Sangiovese. Balanced, almost musical, it's a pleasure to drink from an early age and also has an aging potential of 5-8 years.
Giacomo Conterno Barolo Cascina Francia 2011In years of outstanding quality, a selection is made while the Nebbiolo grapes are still on the vines, and the very best are reserved to become Monfortino. The two Barolos are fermented identically, with the exception that no temperature control is employed for Monfortino no matter how high the temperatures may go. The wines are then racked into their respective botti for élevage. The Barolo "Cascina Francia" is bottled after approximately four years in wood, and the Monfortino after approximately seven years. Beginning with the 2010 Barolo and 2012 Barbera, the wines will labeled as simply "Francia," as opposed to "Cascina Francia." The change was made to comply to the new standardization of Barolo cru' names across the region - there was no change to the source nor the winemaking or aging of the wine.
Fontodi Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo 2012All Fontodi wines are produced from grapes coming from their own vineyards, picked by hand, chosen with care and vinified in a way that exalts the character of the vines and the territory. Ageing in Troncais and Allier barrels 50% new for 24 months.

Montevertine Le Pergole Torte 2013he prestige wine of Montevertine is only produced in outstanding vintages. This ultimate wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for 18 months and then racked into small French oak (Allier) barrels for the final six month stage of its elevage. It is produced primarily from a two hectare vineyard planted in 1968 exclusively to Sangiovese vines with a north-northeast exposure. Matches roast white and red meat, poultry and wildfowl, venison, cheese.
Tenuta di Biserno Il Pino di Biserno 2013Notes of red berries, mocha and liquorice. Plenty of fruit combined with fine grained tannins and well integrated oak the wine offers both good intensity and finesse. It is an elegant and harmonious wine already at release at the end of 2015 and will develop in complexity with time.
Giacomo Conterno Barolo Cascina Francia 2012For 45 years, until his death in 2004, Giovanni Conterno forged a reputation as the greatest of all Barolo producers, irrespective of style. The wines he made were the quintessence of "traditional" Barolo: rich, powerful, massively structured, and capable of long development in bottle. For many, his heroic Monfortino-the product of wild temperature swings during fermentation and 6 to 8 years in barrel-is the most perfect expression of the Nebbiolo grape. As for his glorious Barolo Cascina Francia, it has long been the benchmark against which other producers measure their own efforts.

Fontodi Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo 2011
